Chocolate Coconut Bars

Step 1: Make the Coconut Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded coconut with sweetened condensed milk.

Add vanilla extract if using.

Mix well until the mixture becomes sticky and holds together when pressed.

Step 2: Shape the Bars

Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into rectangular bars or small candy-like blocks.

Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 3: Chill the Bars

Refrigerate the shaped bars for 30–60 minutes, or freeze for 15–20 minutes, until they become firm and easier to coat.

Step 4: Melt the Chocolate

Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave in short intervals, stirring each time until smooth.

If desired, add coconut oil or butter to make the chocolate smoother and easier to coat.

Step 5: Coat the Bars

Dip each chilled coconut bar into the melted chocolate.

Use a fork to lift it out, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.

Step 6: Set the Bars

Place the coated bars back onto the parchment-lined tray.

Let them sit at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate is fully set and firm.

Serving & Storage Tips
