Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescent Braid

1. Preheat and Prepare

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the Dough

Unroll the crescent dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
Press the seams together to form one large rectangle.

Using a knife, cut slits along both long sides of the dough (about 1 inch apart), leaving the center section intact for the filling.

3. Add the Filling

Spread the shredded chicken evenly down the center of the dough.

Layer the ham slices over the chicken, then sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.

If using, add a light spread of Dijon mustard and a pinch of garlic powder for extra flavor.

4. Braid the Dough

Fold the strips from each side over the filling, alternating left and right to create a braided pattern.

Tuck in the ends to seal the braid.

5. Brush and Bake

Brush the top with melted butter for a golden, glossy finish.

Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the braid is golden brown and cooked through.

6. Cool and Serve

Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Serve warm and enjoy the crispy, cheesy layers!
