Sweet Coconut Bars

In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water.
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Cook for about 5 minutes until the syrup reaches the “thread stage” (a thin thread forms when lifted with a spoon).
Step 2: Mix in Coconut & Condensed Milk

Add the flaked coconut and stir to coat evenly.
Pour in the condensed milk and continue stirring.
Cook until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the bottom of the pan. You should be able to draw a clear line across the bottom with a spoon.
Step 3: Spread & Set

Remove from heat and immediately transfer to a greased glass dish.
Use a spatula to spread the mixture into an even layer.
Let it rest for 10 minutes to partially set.
Step 4: Slice & Cool

After resting, cut into squares, rectangles, or fun shapes.
Allow to cool completely before serving to achieve that perfect chewy texture.
Optional Tip: Add a drizzle of melted chocolate, a sprinkle of chopped nuts, or a dusting of shredded coconut on top for a decorative finish.
