It is not always due to mishandling or negligence.
These bites can sometimes be the result of diseases or specific conditions related to growing tomatoes. Regardless, although it frightened me at the time, I realized that it was a normal part of the life cycle of these vegetables.
In the end, these tomatoes, despite the damage, were still edible. A little lesson in patience and acceptance of nature’s imperfections!
