Old-Fashioned Melt-in-Your-Mouth Cake

Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Base
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs with sugar, a pinch of salt, and vanilla extract until the mixture becomes creamy and pale.

Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients
Pour in the vegetable oil and mix well. Stir in the yogurt until smooth and fully incorporated.

Step 3: Incorporate Dry Ingredients
Sift together flour and baking powder. Add to the mixture in two parts, folding gently after each addition. Do not overmix.

Step 4: Prepare for Baking
Grease a 26cm (10-inch) round baking dish. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the surface.

Step 5: Add Yogurt Topping
Drop spoonfuls of the remaining yogurt over the batter. Add small dollops of strawberry jam between the yogurt spots.

Step 6: Create Marble Effect
Using a knife or skewer, swirl the yogurt and jam lightly through the batter to create a marbled pattern.

Step 7: Bake to Perfection
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden.

Step 8: Finish and Serve
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy.
