2 pounds pork ribs
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon chili powder
Directions
1. Prepare the pork ribs by removing the membrane from the back, if necessary, and pat them dry with paper towels.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, honey, and chili powder until well combined.
3. Place the ribs in the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over them, ensuring the ribs are well coated.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the ribs are tender and cooked through.
5. Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet.
6. Optional: Brush with additional barbecue sauce and broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes to caramelize the top.
7. Serve hot with your choice of sides.
Variations & Tips
For a smokier flavor, try adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the sauce mixture. If you prefer more heat, increase the chili powder or add a dash of cayenne pepper. For a tangier taste, incorporate a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar into the sauce. You can also experiment with different types of barbecue sauce, such as a chipotle or bourbon-infused variety, to change the flavor profile. If you’re short on time, you can cook the ribs on high for 3-4 hours, though the low and slow method yields the most tender results.
