Ginger Water (Hot or Cold)

Ginger Water (Hot or Cold)
Ingredients

1–2 inches fresh ginger root

3–4 cups water

Optional: honey, lemon, or mint (to taste)

Ice (if serving cold)

Instructions

Prepare the ginger

Wash the ginger well.

Peel if you want (optional), then slice or lightly crush it.

Boil

Add ginger and water to a pot.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes (longer = stronger flavor).

Strain

Remove from heat and strain out the ginger pieces.

Serve

Hot: Drink as is, or add a little honey or lemon.

Cold: Let it cool, pour over ice, and add lemon or mint if you like.

Tips

For a milder taste, use less ginger or simmer for a shorter time.

Store in the fridge up to 2 days in a covered container.
